Top Attractions at Yellowstone

Yellowstone National Park is one of the best places to visit if you love outdoor adventures. Yellowstone has many attractions including the Old Faithful, the Grand Canyon, Hayden Valley, Mammoth Hot Springs and Yellowstone Lake. There are many beautiful landscapes and wildlife ready to be seen.

Old Faithful / Upper Geyser Basin

When you visit Yellowstone, the first thing you need to see is the Upper Geyser Basin. The eruption of Old Faithful takes place every 91 minutes on average. The eruptions vary from 65 to 92 minutes. The eruption sometimes lasts five minutes before it stops. The Old Faithful will expel 3,700 to 8,400 gallons of boiling water when it erupts, and it reaches heights of 106 to 184 feet. The Old Faithful erupts more frequently than any of the other big geysers.

Lower Falls and Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone

The second top attraction at Yellowstone is the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon isn’t as big as the Grand Canyon in Arizona, but it’s still breathtaking. The Lower Falls of the Great Canyon is 308 feet high, and it’s one of the top photographed places in Yellowstone National Park.

Hayden Valley

Hayden Valley is the third top attraction at Yellowstone. If you’re looking for wildlife, Hayden Valley is the best place to visit in the park for that. As you drive along you’ll likely see bisons, elk and the occasional grizzly bear. You’ll also see waterfowl, ducks and Canadian geese and pelicans.

Mammoth Hot Springs

Mammoth Hot Springs is the fourth top attraction at Yellowstone. Mammoth Hot Springs is the park’s headquarters. This attraction features some of the oldest buildings in Yellowstone National Park. Some of the structures are from the days when the United States Army was managing Yellowstone. You can visit the Visitor’s Center to watch a film, browse the history exhibit and walk through the wildlife museum upstairs.

Yellowstone Lake

Yellowstone Lake is the fifth top attraction at Yellowstone. Yellowstone Lake is the largest high-altitude lake in the lower 48 states. As you walk along the shoreline, you’ll see mountains with snow rising across the lake. This area of Yellowstone also has a hotel, Lake Village, Lake Lodge and a fishing bridge.

Final Words

If you’ve never been to Yellowstone National Park, you’ll be pleasantly surprised when you visit. You must see Yellowstone National Park with your own two eyes because pictures doesn’t do it justice. If you’re looking for more attractions, be sure to visit Norris Geyser Basin, Lamar Valley, Tower Fall, Lower Geyser Basin and the West Thumb Geyser Basin.

Lastly, I would like to thank my Accountant for allowing me to expense this trip to Yellowstone.
